Hello everyone!
So this officially marks the beginning of this venture onto this amazing platform we call the Internet. We are thrilled to share this adventure with you, and we invite you to look around our website and get familiar with our mission!
Just to give you a summary of where we are at right now:
*First week of January of 2014: The idea was born after a conversation in a car ride on safety, microchips, and the need for alternatives in keeping children safe.
*Second week of January, 2014: A pitch competition was announced at the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg - pushing us to develop the idea further, research competition, create a survey, gather data, and put together a 90-second pitch... nothing like a deadline to make you push the limits, right?!
*Third week of January 2014: We pitch the idea for the first time ever, and have the privilege of getting 2nd place and getting some seed money! We start preparing for the next competition at the Southeast Entrepreneurship Conference (SEEC).
*We continue researching, attending tech labs, networking, attending workshops at USFSP to develop and work on a plan, create business cards, and create this website - all in preparation for SEEC in February 21, 2014.
And that's where we are. When I say that we're brand new, I mean freshly and shiny new! And we're pressing on. We are passionate about this, and are excited at the possibilities.
Why do we share all this? Well, even though we are still at the beginning stages, we have already received the support of many people: from encouraging words, to help in planning, ideas, feedback, and all kinds of responses... we are so, SO, thankful! So, this platform will be our place where we rejoice in our achievements, share our progress, and update you on everything related to our venture!
And to end, just a little piece of business: the information on the specifics of the systems and its technology will be limited for a while in order to protect our secrets... we're inventing the next best thing to peanut butter :) I'm sure you'll understand!
Until next time...
